Alejandro Mesa

Director for Technology and Design

ajmesa@ufl.edu

Alejandro first heard of Citizens for Social Justice through an e-mail sent to the Engineering students at the University of Florida. Soon after, he contacted Founder and President Dirk Sampselle in order to get involved. The importance of technology in social projects is underestimated by many people. The truth is that there are few, if any, successful organizations in today's world who do not take advantage of the many opportunities that technological advances have to offer. With this in mind, Alejandro has coordinated and managed a number of projects in order to help meet all the technological needs of Citizens for Social Justice. Apart from being a student at the University of Florida majoring in Software Engineering, Alejandro is a lover of the arts and enjoys traveling. He is originally from Cuba but lived in different countries as a child.

Social projects, by definition, are dependent on the support of people within our society.  Today, there is no better way to communicate social ideas than through the internet, so when Dirk Sampselle contacted me about creating a website for Citizens for Social Justice, I jumped aboard.  As a Computer Science and Mathematics major, and the President of the Association of Digital Art & Media (ADAM) at UF, I felt my expertise could help create an attractive, scalable website for the company.

Coincidentally, at the time Dirk contacted me about the website, I founded a small web design firm, Studio 4 Development (www.Studio4Dev.com).  Through Studio 4 Development I offered to work on the website as a pro-bono project to start off the company.  Through this studio and the help of Alejandro Mesa, we have succeeded in our website creation objectives.  To discuss a web design project, e-mail us at sales@studio4dev.com"
