We are a community. We are empowered. We are blessed with a burden. We are Citizens for Social Justice, a non-profit corporation founded and run by University of Florida students. We develop innovative leadership, service, and research opportunities that aim at improving civic engagement and increasing social awareness. Our projects train students to put their skills and academic training into practice in ways that pose substantive benefits to our community.
Citizens for Social Justice is led by a Board of Directors consisting of student leaders who run our Golden Door residential homeless education program, gharmony Service and Civic Engagement Profile, and Social Justice Research Felloswhip program. Our corporation comprises a Board of Advisors consisting of more than twenty faculty members from over a dozen Departments at the University, a team of community professionals including City and County Commissioners, and a coalition of area non-profit and government agency Directors. Through our several initiatives, we maintain strategic Partnerships with over a dozen student organizations and honorary societies at the University, and a number of community-based operations in Gainesville.
